Renata Guzera
Renata Guzera is a visual artist working in photography, graphic design, and traditional printmaking, particularly linocut. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Her work moves between disciplines, often grounded in tactile, analogue processes that allow for slowness, intuition, and reflection.
In her studio practice, Guzera explores abstract forms that emerge organically - often echoing the meditative qualities of Eastern philosophy and the emotional memory of landscapes. Her linocuts are silent yet charged spaces, where repetition becomes both a technical necessity and a personal ritual.
Raised between different cultural worlds, Guzera is deeply interested in what is unseen - what lingers under the surface of language, gesture, and form. This sensitivity finds expression especially in her conceptual photography and in print-based works that resist direct narration, instead offering space for introspection.
She has exhibited her work in Poland at venues such as the Palace of Fine Arts in Kraków (2019), the FestivALT alternative culture festival (2022), and the Center for the Meeting of Cultures in Dąbrowa Tarnowska (2023). Her work has been published in Wiadomości ASP and in Invisible Lines, a collection of selected works from the Photography Studio I (2009-2019).
Her perspective as an artist is also informed by her experience working with heritage, memory, and the complexities of identity in contemporary Polish-Jewish contexts. Whether through print or image, Guzera’s works often become quiet sites of encounter - where presence is as important as absence.
She currently lives and works in Kraków.
